Bachelor of Science

Rehabilitation Sciences, B.S.

The Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences is designed to prepare students for careers in rehabilitation and related healthcare fields such as OT, PT, Speech pathologist, Hospital/Clinical/Public Health administration, Medical/Rehabilitation Design Engineer, and Prosthetics and Orthotics . This program provides a strong foundation in the sciences, coupled with practical knowledge in rehabilitation, health, and wellness. It is an ideal pathway for students interested in pursuing graduate studies in occupational therapy, physical therapy, or other rehabilitation professions. For students who decide to not continue into a graduate program, a BRS degree can provide career opportunities as Rehabilitation specialist counselor, Case manager, Clinical research coordinator, Lab or Rehab technician, Medical transcription or scheduling, Vocational rehabilitation counselor, or Director of Residential programs or Rehabilitation services.

The curriculum includes coursework in anatomy, physiology, psychology, and kinesiology courses. This program equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to support individuals in their recovery and improve their quality of life. Successful program completion provides a seamless pathway to the OT and PT programs at CSM by meeting all prerequisites. CSM students may be able to complete an internal app and avoid the fee for the Central Application Systems (depending on the program). While completion of the BRS degree does not guarantee admission to a CSM graduate program, CSM alumnae are given preferential admission decisions for these graduate programs.

Please see the Admissions Requirements for the Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) and Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs in the Graduate Admissions section of the academic catalog.
