Applicants who do not meet the criteria for the general admission process may be reviewed within the Alternate Admissions Pathway. A representative from Admissions will contact the applicant for additional materials that may demonstrate their potential for success.
Students who are admitted via Alternate Admissions Pathway (APP) will be required to complete an academic success strategies course, such as IDS 121 (Strategies for Success) or a program-specific equivalent, with a grade of C or better. APP students are limited to a maximum of 14 credits during their first semester and must complete English and math placement exams unless equivalent credits have been earned through AP, dual enrollment, or transfer coursework.
It is highly recommended that Alternate Admissions Pathway students meet with their Student Success Advisor 2-4 weeks prior to the start of classes and participate in the CSM Advantage program.
Additional requirements may be specified upon acceptance. Compliance with all Alternate Admissions Pathway requirements is mandatory. Failure to meet these requirements may result in probation during the second semester or dismissal from CSM.
